Welcome

The month of November has flown by. It commenced with another KUR!O event, continued with the launch of our CBS Healthcare brand at Medica in Dusseldorf, and came to a close with some valuable ergonomic research findings.

Model Making Event

Model making at KUR!O unleashes creative energy

Earlier this month, we enjoyed a fantastic presentation on architectural model making by Stephen Fooks of Pipers, the leading practice in the production of models. This was followed by a short practical session of building our very own architectural models!

Creativity was not in short supply and there were some tense (and some not so tense) faces as some weird and wonderful structures came to the fore. Noteworthy models included the ‘Uhu’ village, some had swimming pools and miniature people, others were more like abstract art.

Olya Kalosha’s model, stood out above the rest however, with its delicate and well thought-out structure.  It was a highly detailed and dimensional multi-story model making Olya a worthy winner. Olya is a recent graduate looking for work in the industry so this may well prove to be her calling! Olya’s prize was a restaurant gift voucher and she subsequently treated some fellow model makers from Foster and Partners to lunch at Roast near the CBS showroom in Borough market.

We look forward to sharing our calendar with you for coming events in the New Year which include drawing at work, photography and much more. If you would like to see more pictures please visit our facebook page www.facebook.com/cbsproducts.

Healthcare Launch

Launch of CBS Healthcare range at Medica, Dusseldorf, 16th to 19th November

Last month we introduced our Patient Infotainment monitor support, CBS Hi-1, a product that will be used by patients and clinicians within a number of healthcare environments. Hi1 stands out against its competitors due to its spring technology in a world where the gas strut remains commonplace, it also has a sleeker design than other variations on the market. If you are working on a healthcare project please contact us to see how we can help.

Trends in patient healthcare and entertainment

Entertainment in hospitals has changed dramatically. In the past you would get ‘hospital radio’ or maybe a dedicated television room if you were lucky. However, if you have visited or spent time in a hospital recently, you cannot have failed to notice the prevalence of bed-side entertainment systems now provided for patients. Read more…
