Flo Monitor Arm Wins Red Dot Design Award 2025
April 16, 2025
Colebrook Bosson Saunders is honored to announce that the Flo Monitor Arm has been recognized with the prestigious Red Dot Design Award 2025 in the Product Design category.
Redefining Monitor Arm Design
When we first conceptualized the Flo Monitor Arm, we sought to revolutionize how people interact with their screens in the workplace and at home. 15 years after the original Flo Monitor Arm was launched, we wanted to create a monitor arm that was not merely functional but elevated the entire workspace experience and c. Today's recognition by the Red Dot jury validates our approach of putting human needs at the center of monitor support design.
The new Flo Monitor Arm represents Colebrook Bosson Saunders embracing a fundamental shift in workspace use. With the rise of a global, agile workforce, adaptability on the office floorplate has become more important than ever. Marketers, data analysts, salespeople, and finance teams now use the same desk differently. 15 years after it was originally launched (and won a Red Dot Award), the world has changed and the new Flo represents a new take on ergonomics, allowing users to position their displays – curved or flat – with unprecedented precision and ease. Its fluid, dynamic movement system enables screens to be adjusted effortlessly, creating healthier viewing angles and more adaptable workspaces, no matter the user’s role. We rejected the rigid, utilitarian look that has dominated monitor arms for decades and instead embraced sleek contours and a cylindrical form that minimises the accessory to favor monitor work in any environment.
Innovation Born from Understanding Workspace Needs
This award belongs not just to our design team but to the hundreds of users, ergonomic specialists, and workspace design experts who collaborated with us throughout the development process. Their insights into how people interact with monitors shaped every aspect of the Flo Arm's design.
"Working with real users in actual office environments changed everything about our approach," says Eddie Idemudia, Global Head of Brand and Marketing at Colebrook Bosson Saunders. "We observed new ways of working with different people constantly reposition their screens throughout the day depending on their tasks, and how the right monitor positioning dramatically impacts productivity and physical comfort."
What Makes the Flo Monitor Arm Special
The Red Dot jury specifically highlighted several innovative features that set the Flo Monitor Arm apart:
-
The patented use of a dual-rate spring mechanism that allows fingertip light adjustments
-
Easy installation and adjustment system that makes setup and reconfiguration simple
-
The integrated cable management solution that creates cleaner, more organized workspaces
-
Sustainable design principles that ensure longevity and reduce workplace technology waste with a focus on recyclable materials
Looking Ahead
While we celebrate this recognition, we're already working on what comes next in monitor arm technology. The Flo Monitor Arm is just the beginning of our vision for workspaces where technology adapts to people, not the other way around.
